This feature service presents the 2025 snapshot of the
United States Road Assessment Program (usRAP) for UDOT’s Traffic and Safety
group. The dataset was sourced from the University of Utah and reflects
conditions as of January 2025.

The usRAP tool supports proactive safety planning by
identifying roadway design risks through video-coded segments analyzed in
100-meter intervals. Data included in this layer provides both safety star
ratings and critical roadway design characteristics, including:

Number
of lanes

Median
type

Intersection
type

Paved
shoulder presence

Sidewalk
availability

Bicycle
facilities

The layer is intended to support MIRE Fundamental Data
Element (FDE) reporting and guide systemic safety analysis across Utah’s
roadway network. It complements crash-based safety analysis tools and helps
prioritize cost-effective improvements.

Data Source: University of
